Entrepreneur Richard Liu Qiangdong Discusses Future of JD.com

Richard Liu Qiangdong recently attended an economic forum to discuss the latest news pertaining to his company. As the founder of JD.com, Richard Liu has built his company into one of the leading online retailers in China. While sitting down to talk about his business, Liu discussed his background as well as what led him to start up his tech company. He emphasized the importance of ecommerce and how it has changed the retail industry. One of the other issues he talked about was the firm’s expansion to other markets. Richard has looked to expand the shipping routes to both North America and Europe. With the expanded shipping routes, he will be able to further grow and expand his company. As well as extending new shipping routes, Liu wants to make them more efficient as well.

When Richard Liu Qiangdong finished his higher education programs at one of China’s leading universities, he looked to begin his professional career. During the beginning of his career, he worked as a freelance computer programmer. This allowed him to gain a lot of valuable experience working with different companies in the technology sector. He would eventually become a director of computer technology at a company called Japan Life. Over the course of his career, Richard Liu Qiangdong has started up three businesses. His first business was a restaurant while he was still in college. The restaurant was successful and allowed Richard Liu to get some valuable experience as an entrepreneur. He eventually decided to close down the restaurant so that he can focus on his computer and technology career.

His next business was founded shortly after he left the technology industry. He started up a business that offered magneto optics products to consumers. This business had a brick and mortar storefront where customers would come in and purchase the products his business offered. When a SARS outbreak took place, Richard Liu was unable to get a sufficient amount of customers and therefore had to shut this business down. The third business Richard Liu Qiangdong started up is the one he manages now which his JD.com. As the founder and chief executive officer of JD, Richard Liu has used ecommerce in order to make it easier for customers to purchase products. He has also looked to expand his company and innovate on a regular basis as well. With this approach, he has built JD into one of the most profitable companies in the retail industry.
