The fall of 2017 was a beehive of activity for the fashion industry. Along with New York’s Fashion Week kicking off its spectacular runway show, The School of Fashion at The Academy of Art University held its 21st runway showcase on September 9th, 2017. This sensational event was held at the famed Skylight Clarkson Square, the place to be for style and fashion for the week, and like the previous events, the runway showcase was a huge success for the Academy and it’s competing designers.
The 21st runway showcase featured 10 recent MFA and BFA graduates. These up and coming designers came from some diverse backgrounds and their collections of 2 menswear collections and five womenswear collections reflected as much. The event also featured two collaborations among the ten graduates which combined some amazing and unique fashion styles. Craftsmanship, fresh ideas, and eclectic styles impressed audience members from around the globe including celebrity J Alexander from America’s Next Top Model.
